I installed a fan assembly from a late model Chevy truck with a manual switch inside...I love it. Makes a huge difference in cooling, A/C use, and a little more hp.

I like having a shroud to help channel and increase the airflow. The only issues you will have to deal with is the upper radiator hose getting close to the AC pump (if you remove your stock shroud) and where to secure the radiator expansion tank and windshield washer fluid reservoir. Beyond that, you guys will love having an electric fan. And I spent a total of maybe $100 for my setup.

Mine: '01 QC 2500 4x4 w/5 speed.

Got an email back from them. They do group buys and the discounts look pretty good to me. I'll post up all the info later. I'm at work already so don't feel like posting all the numbers from my cell

That doesn't include all the added stuff they the kit has like the mounting hardware. Like I told you in the PM I sent you a while back. I like the idea of everythign being together. I hate piecing **** together. Still cheaper then the flex-a-lite stuff

the price is kinda the point in the group buy. See if I can get it down some. No matter what I like that kit. Ya never know if something will work untill you try it.

For those that are interested I have a couple people that has shown interest on DT as well
"Mounting Installation Kits
4 Mounting Feet (per fan) that Attach to the Fan Cage
4 Nylon Mounting Straps (per fan) to Keep the Fan as Close to the Radiator as Possible for More Efficient Cooling and Better Performance
4 High Temperature Silicone Shock Rings (per fan) to Protect the Radiator Fins
4 Lock Discs (per fan) to Secure Everything in Place"

Uhh, the mounting kit in the stuff you are ordering is the same basic kit every fan comes with. It's 'zip ties' through the radiator. I'm guessing the controller is just some off the shelf item they throw in with instructions on how to wire it, and it's not any different from 'piecing' together a kit.

Also find it hilarious that they responded to your email about a group buy immediately, and completely ignored mine asking for specifics on how they rated the fans. For that reason alone, I wouldn't bother with them.

My guess is they'll work, but if you can't get the 'kit' for under $200, you are paying too much. If you ordered the fans from summit, with a controller, for $200, I bet you would be doing the same amount of install work. If that's not enough of a 'kit' for you, I'll order it, put it all in one box, and resend it too you for $300? lol

Again, sorry I haven't finished my thread, won't get back to it until October at this point. I plan on doing 'performance' testing with a dyno, but already have been told what to expect as a result from insiders. (Maybe 4 hp at the rear wheels) Given that, I don't expect to run an electric fan as my primary cooling fan at all now. I believe they are totally over hyped and you will not see a significant bump in performance at the rear wheels.

I'll finish my Ram testing for the benefit of those who want to do it, but $200-$300 for not even 10 HP, not worth it in my eyes.

Dan did the replace the controller? Was their any issues with getting stuff handled or did he just get another one somewhere else?

I just went back and looked through and I deleted the responses I got from the people that wrote me back and eBay deletes them after 30 days. I still have his response though. I would ask them all if the build looked good, did they see an increase in performance, and mpg.
His response said "
I did see an increase in mpg. But last week the relay burned up and I had to remove the fans.I would not recomend that product!!!"
So I don't even know if he tried getting in touch with him to see about a replacement. That was really the only negative response I had and I probably received emails from 5 or 6 people. They weren't all from Dodge trucks, a couple were and the others were from Chevy and Ford trucks, still probably the same product. But anyways just thought I would post up since I've been following his feedback and fans for a few months now wanting to get one.
His eBay profile is

spikedcollardogs if anyone wants to read what other people have to say.

Looking through it the guy who had the relay burn up left feedback on July 10, and then responded to me August 14. So he only had about a month on it before the relay burnt up. But like I said everybody else had theirs for a while and no one else had any problems. He bought it for a Chevy truck too.

Ok guys heres the numbers

5-9 buyers get 10% off
10-19 buyers get 20% off
20 or more buyers get 25% off

The semi bad part is that with a group buy they don't off free shipping unless they are all shipped to 1 address. So they charge a 5.00 handling fee
