Howdy all! I just picked up my first dodge truck today and i would like to know what i got my self in to.
Its a 1996 1500 extra cab short box, 4x4, 5.9L 360, fully loaded minus the leather, 110K with auto tranny. How good of a truck is this? Reliable? What kind of MPG would i usually get? How is it offroad?
Thanks guys

Thats the kind of research you should do BEFORE you buy a vehicle, not after.

Q: How good of a truck is this? Reliable?
A: These Dodge Rams involve whats called "tough love". Some days, you will just love them and praise them. Other days, you will love them so much you'll want to kick, beat, and scream at them. As long as you don't mind learning how to turn a wrench, so to speak, they are usually going to do you OK.
Q: MPG?
A: You shouldn't be buying a truck and expecting MPGs. Its more like GPM, gallons per mile. For a spirited driver, such as myself, with a bit of a lead foot, expect 10 MPG in town. Once you add on a few upgrades, like a tuner, different intake manifold, performance air filter or CAI, different exhaust, etc., you'll get about 12 MPG in town. Don't ever trust the overhead console, always do the cold hard math when figuring MPGs... miles driven (trip OD) divided by gallons you put in at the pump. If you can baby it, you may be able to squeeze 14 or a little more out of it.
Q: Off-road?
A: If you plan on off-roading, it doesn't matter what truck you have or what parts you use, expect to break stuff. Mine's no where near the off-road machine that some guys have on here, but it gets me into/out of ditches and through muddy/dirt/crop fields just fine. They can, with the right parts, be made into great off-road machines.
Like Miami said, do some searching here to. Lots and LOTS of info pertaining to all of the above.
