Default Lift Kit Help

I have a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 Sport 4X4. Im trying to fit some LT315/75/R16 tires on my truck but it will rub. In what direction should I go to make these tires work? I have seen some lifts that exclude my truck, any input would be appreciated.
Thanks

Why do they exclude your truck? Unless it is an Off Road Edition Sport they should work. If it is just a Sport, then the listings are mistaken, which is a common problem.

I though the sports and the off road edition came with a 2" lift. Cause mowhak he has a off road edition and his truck sat higher than mine did.

Not all Sports are Off Road Edition models. Sport is just a cosmetic upgrade, nothing on the suspension is different unless it also is an Off Road Edition. The only time that being a Sport makes a difference is in things that mount to the front end or headlights.

So which is you? A sport or off road? You have the sport bumper and the 4.10 of the off road edition.

well is is just a sport 4X4, the offroad edition didn't come out till 2000. There seems to be a factory lift on the 4X4 though, what are your suggestions? I dont need something massive, just something so I can fit my tires.

Mine is just a Sport, not an Off Road Edition. 4.10 gears were standard on a 2500 with V10, but also offered as a stand-alone option on the 1500.

the tires would fit in the back, but they would rub in the front. I was told a 3" lift would fix the problem

If there were any kind of lift on that truck then 315s would fit easily. Does it sit higher in the rear than in the front? If so, you might be able to get away with a simple lift like a leveling kit, 2"-3" in lift. If not, then a full lift kit of at least 3" will be in order. Again, there's nothing different about a Sport model suspension that would make a kit not fit. The reason the listings say that is because they mistakenly think all Sport Models are also Off Road Edition models, and that just isn't true.
