Thanks guys for the input. I think i will skip the lift and big tires on this truck. Ill just fix up all the rust and paint it to get it lookin better. Right now i have 245's on the truck so i may up them to 265's.

I need to find a diesel come spring.

Well talk to you later, and thanks again

Why put more money into it by fixing the rust?

you know reading this makes me wonder because I have 35's (4 inch body and heavier springs) and still have plenty of pickup and power.....I lifted my jeep and put 4.56 gearing and my Ram has way more pickup than my jeeps 2.5 banger did with 32 inch tires.....the PO I bought the Ram from said he never touched the gears but the first owner must have changed the gearing because mines fine on inclines to? Is it really that much of a dog with factory 3.55 and 35" mudders?

I had 35s on my '01 QC with a 5.2. I ran all over hells creation with that thing. If I found myself on a hilly road where it constantly wanted to shift back and forth, I would just lock out the OD. I used to pull a fully loaded 4 place snowmobile trailer up to Tug Hill all the time with it. Wasn't the ballziest truck, but it got the job done. I did put 4:10s in it a couple months before I traded it though. Wish I had done that sooner.

I already have the cab corners in and i need to put the rockers in. next i have to fix the rust on the bed which won't be too bad. ( bondo and some spray foam insulation)
