Default Lifting a 1994 1500

Hi guys,

Well im new here and i just have a few questions.

I am going to put a 3" rough country lift on my 1994 dodge ram 1500 with a 360 V8.

The lift comes with 3" coil spacers front shocks and a 1.5" rear block to lift the back of the truck. Now I know i have the mechanical ability to do this. And i know my dad does too, but he is being a real pain in the butt lately so Im going to do this myself. I want to know if i will be able to clear 35" tires with 15" rims? the lift kit says you can fit 35" tires with proper offset. But then i don't know if they mean on factory rims or what. Cause my factory rims are 16". I don't think the rim size will affect anything because the tire is 35" no matter what. IT just has 2" more sidewall than it would have on a 16" rim.

so what do you guys think? I know i will probably use this forum more. But my truck has 183k and is still runnin strong

Let me know if you think this will work, and thanks again for your help,

Kody

EDIT:

here is a link to the lift kit i am buying.

They just mean rims w back spacing so they stick out so you wont rub the control arms. I have there 3" lift on my truck works good. 35" tires and 3.55 ouch.

ok,

so you think they will fit?

I don't want to do a body lift.

yea the truck really moves now with 245's. If i put the 35's on it might take alot of the oomf outta it. Exspecially since i pull with it.

I can look for a set of 33's which is what i want. but i found a set of 35's with rims that will fit my truck and they have like half to 3/4 tread left for $200.

So do you think that the 35's will be too much? cause i need the truck to be able to pull the same as it did before ( or at least close to it )

Thanks again for the help.

35" tires on 3.55 gears? Yeah... stay away from anything remotely resembling an incline. And what do you pull? Trailer? Forget it. Think 4.56's in your near future.

nah this truck is not gonna stay for long. It was my first truck and im going to ****** up a cummins in the spring. i want to lift this truck so i have a bit more experience for my next truck.

i need to get bigger tires because the truck will look retarded if i keep the stock 245's on lol.

The area where i live is all hills. my driveway is a hill. you can't go anywhere without a hill so not sure what i will do. But im trying to gather information before i go and spend money and find out that it ain't gonna work/

thanks,

Kody

Umm if you are going to get ride of this truck soon. Save the money for the new one. A 3" lift is easy. 5" is where you need to put more work into. 35" tires and 3.55 will not work no way no how. You will burn up trannys so quick.

honestly, if i were to do anything, i would say get like a 2-3" in lift, and get like 265's. thats what i have right now and they are just big enough for my taste, but i'm still able to haul *** with 3.55's (kind of a oxymoron but, whatever lol)

personally, i think big tires are over rated. unless you plan on doing some extensive mudding.
