Questions.. I need some help with, 4 of them.
This is the 3rd coil ive put on. I had 2 old ones, and they did the same thing. This on is brand new. No change. Ill try the seafoam out for sure. Also ill see about the fuel pressure tester.
Thanks for the feedback I appreciate it!

I put new wires, plugs, high end cap, and rotor on a couple years ago and had a bad miss/backfire when accelerating hard.Rerouted wires and no change.Put a cheap stock cap and rotor on it= ran smooth as ever.High end plugs are junk also, figured that out 10 years ago.
The plugs, wires, cap and rotor are nothing fancy. There just the run of the mill gear. There is no cat in the truck.. Running outta ideas. I havent gotten to the fuel system for a check yet. I dont understand it though, it accelerates fine and if i tramp on it its fine. If there was a fuel problem wouldnt it be more likely to cause problems at that time. I get the problems when im cruseing.. Itll hold a gear from time to time and back fire. I play with the throttle a bit and it usually shifts.
Damn thing... Its really starting to **** me off.

I just felt like you this week. I had an electrical wiring / connector issue that was driving me insane for 2 months now. Intermittent wiring that was so frustrating. I finally found the root cause after all these years. Just had to get mad enough to start tracing out the wiring harnesses.
There was one condition with how ignition wires are routed that will also cause what your experiencing by the way. There was an article and a paper from Dodge on a fix for that issues and, it involves one of two things:
1. Method one requires that the user reroutes the plug wires per Dodge specs or,
2. Method two involves putting heavy, 8.5-MM on with wire looms.
Both methods prevent misfire / backfire. Below is the link for the rewire method. I suffered with that one for a while until I found this paper- solved that issue however, I didn't like that method and swapped out for method 2 and MSD ignition wires. No more problems with misfires.
