And now with all that cranking, there is most likely plenty of gas in the oil.

Ummm, gas is a lot thinner than oil, and can easily get past the rings. Just pull the dipstick, smell, and make sure. Before you have another problem.

from my expierence and with my high school shop teachers knowledge/help with crank sensors they pretty much either work, or dont work, there is no in between.

though i did read on allexperts that the asd relay will trigger when there is no cam, or crank signal. and it was on a 99 dakota with a 5.9 so im not sure if it would be the same. i think i might look into one of these senors, as i now know that one of them could be goin out, or losing connection. hmm...ponders a bit

DID YOU DO A SPARK TEST!? Just do it, it takes about 30 seconds and if you have spark, we can rule out an ignition problem.

That is not true about it working or not. I just put in a new one two days ago and, the idle was all over the map and fine the next all with the same sensor. Sometimes they deliver low-erratic voltage while sometimes works within spec. I removed it, cleaned the OEM one, stuck it back in and it works.

So, it's not just black and white / on / off with these things. FYI

thanks for the correction, but like i said, i havent dealt with any that were like that, so i wasnt to sure, so thats why i said it was from my expierence. i might go clean mine then, cause my asd is still trippin, and shuttin my truck off.
