20" wheels=low profile tires. That means very little tire sidewall flex, reduced bump absorption and more road feel transmitted to the wheels and eventually the suspension and occupants. That's the price you pay for running oversize wheels.
Shocks are not gonna solve the problem. I run 20's myself. Mind you 20's didn't become standard till 2002. Our Rams were designed and spec'd with either 16" or 17" rims. So, bigger wheel more unsprung weight, lower profile tire (for clearance) and taxing the suspension more so than stock wheels. Yes my ride is harsh as compared to other Rams I had. But I expected and accepted it. Shocks will not magically make the ride better. Now that I probably wasted my breath and time saying this, to your original question.
Bilsteins, the offer shocks for both 2 and 4wd. Run you anywhere from 200-250 depending on where you shop.

no you didnt waste your breathe bro thanks for the info i thought my suspension needed work but if you have the same systems guess i gotta live with it. but at what point does the original suspension parts need to be changed out?
You will need to jack the front end up, take the wheels off and look. Inspect the pitman and drag link arm. Grease if needed. You should be greasing the front end at every oil change for proper maintenance. Just give everything a good once over, wiggle the rotors side to side and up and down for tie rod/ball joint looseness. On my truck, it still has the factory "greased for life" steering parts. Yes those will changed soon, there is nothing wrong with them and my front end is tight as a drum. I just don't like not having a grease fitting in a wear/movement area.
Shocks didn't change anything on my truck.I've changed them 3 times.Running the high end Bilstiens now and can't tell any difference between in them and the worn out stock shocks that were on it years ago.Mine is a 4x4 though I didn't see if you had a 2W or a 4WD
