check your wheel bearings, they throw off an alignment, and i think the guy might have been bull****ing you cause it sounds to me like its the wheel bearings, cause anyone who knows even a little about cars, will know that replacing a bad part with a new good part will ALWAYS make it better, unless its a defective part, then you just swap them out at the parts store, and bam.

power steering box, sounds like the pump itself. the gear box id assume is the box on the frame that your pitman arm bolts too.

hey thanks. yea thats what i thought. i didnt understand what he meant by it would only halfway fix the sloppy steering. he told me evrything else seemed tight and fine. they checked the whole front end. but when the tire is wiggled from left to right you can hear a popping noise, he said it was the gear box. this guy didnt seem all there...he looked like an older nepolean dynamite figure. lol. im not sure it would be the bearings? i mean i had all the ball joints and u-joints replaced and the bearings seemed fine at that time wich was like..2 months ago.

anyway...here is a link i found to a power steering gear box. does this look right to you guys?

bearing can go out at anytime, i would jack one wheel up, and wiggle it up and down, while looking at the u-joint, if you see any movement in the u joint your bearing is bad. then do it to the other one as well. but it really sounds to me like its the bearings. i had the same problem, bearing went out, and made for realy sloppy steering. the replaced it, and it tightend things up. but in the event that the bearigns are good, i would recomend doing the gear box adjustment diy here on the site.

and that is the gear box alright, the shaft pointing to the right is the output shaft that your pitman arm bolts to, and the other on the input shaft.
and i now stand corrected on the gearbox issue.

Do not replace your steering box yet. 004x1500 is hitting it right on. You've got other issues. Also, don't go back to Napolean and don't get Cardone parts.

alright thanks guys, i appreciate the info. but would one wheel bearing make the steering al sloppy/clunky? i mean i can feel it in steering wheel, and on the floor and in the peddles. its like a viabration/rattling feeling. mainly when im turning and hitting little bumps. its really annoying. but could one wheel bearing throw all that off?

Or ball joints or tie rod ends or bushings... I'd lean more towards unit bearing or ball joints or both.

Don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day.
