to take the front shaft off you need to put a pry bar in the yoke where it connects to the front differential and have it resting on the control arm. that will keep it still so you can take the bolts out.

since you have it off the truck you can put a pry bar in the yoke where it attaches to the transfer case and have the other end of the bar on the ground to keep it still while you remove the bolts. you might have to sit on the transfer case to keep it still while you crack the bolts loose.
or you might be able to rest the pry bar against the transfer case.

One other thing about the front shaft, make sure the slip joint is not froze up.

Cool, i will be installing the tranny tonight, my biggest concern is remembering where all electrical and vacuum components go!!!!! Anny suggestions? I really hope I don't screw this one up. Ill keep you guys updated
