The lower the gear the more power on launch 3.80-4.10 would better for more power.Unfortunetly mpg will go down alot.

not necessarily... my mpg went up a lot when I went from 4.10 gears to 4.56 on my jeep after going with 32inch tires.(4 cyl)....the reason is I was always flooring it dumping wasted gas down the crapper and once i had the correct gearing back (which would be 3.92 for the tire size in this thread I believe) I got the proper use of my overdrive (5th gear) and other things like the speedometer were on again. also depend on driving habits and terrain and usage hills and towing and you will save a bundle with 3.92 or 4.10 gearing.
4.10 you may lose mpg....unless you went with slightly larger tires....hell I get decent mpg with my 4.56's and 35" tires now....truck drives like stock (well a little better cause of other mods)
just my 2 cents though

its important to have a fixed plenum, and a superchips helps a lot.
the superchips also fixed a shifting problem with OD and TC Lock (too early) and it corrects the speedometer.
you can get one for $200-250.
edit. $240 here, brand new...

4.10's are better, but be prepared for a big price (1000-2000) on a 4wd, since you have to change both axles.
I noticed that too with overdrive off. It moves the last shift to 50mph or so... actually the same whether OD is on or not now that I think about it. Anyway, I assume you were refering to OD off shift since thats the spot I notice the most with lack of power.

IMO, anything bigger than 30-31" tires are too big for 3.55s.

Your mileage may vary.

I have 285/70R16 on mine and the Chrysler 3.55 gears in the rear. Its not too bad honestly, the 5.9 makes up for whatever loss there is. Plus you get more contact patch on the tire, enhances traction, pleasure of driving, and safety. Only thing is if you get aftermarket wheels then they'll stick out about a half an inch.

here is a video of me at the truck pulls last week, i had my 285/75/16's on with the 3.55's , i pulled 182' and i was in a High output class which my truck is not HO by any means but i think i did pretty good with those tires on, if i had my 35's stuff would started preaking and i wouldnt have gone anywhere.
