Default Sounds like a bed in an hourly motel....

I got a noise coming from the front of my truck that sounds like a worn out bed with bad springs. It happens on bumps and when I turn the wheel. Is this a grease issue? Bad shocks?Im not sure where the fittings are and the book isnt very helpful.

the fittings should be right in visable sight, its kinda hard to miss them, and yes it could be your shocks, try pushing down on the hood, and get some momentum with it, and then let it bounce on its own, if it bounces more that 3 times, the shocks are bad.

does it sound like this.... eek eek eek eek eek eek.
and can you make it squeak by lifting on the fender or door and rocking the truck sideways ?

locate auto trans shifting mechanism under the truck, on drivers side, sort of under drivers feet. there is a horizontal Z shaped bar with plastic bushings on the end. its where the up/down rod meets the front/rear rod. grease those dry cracked bushings with wheel bearing or multi-grease.

When mine squeaked in the front, over bumps or when turning the wheel, especially at low speeds like a parking lot, took it in and had it looked at. Turns out it was bad u-joints and ball joints, although I was told it was the bad u-joints that made the noise.

make sure your shock bolts are tight before you do anything else. its just one bolt on each end of the shocks. also make sure the rubber boot on the top of each shock isn't worn out.

Mine sounds like that but it is definitely rotational. A u-joint on a driveshaft or something. Haven't had a chance to check it out yet.
