Default Ram 1500 5.9 turn flasher

ok so i went to the dealer because i have no blinkers, brake lights etc. (you've probably read my thread) well i went to try to replace the turn flasher which has number 224 on it, and the hazard which is 552. well everyone has the 552, but no one has the 224. not even the dealer, the came up with an invalid number even though i brought the flasher to them'

so people with a 5.9 1500 gas, what is your turn signal flasher number?

On rock auto it lists an SF224 Delco, GE part# if you look up your truck. Maybe you can call around and the parts store can cross reference it to the brand they sell.

my 97 ram 1500 has the 5.2 engine, not the 5.9 but I can't imagine they have different flashers. mine came with the 224 as the turn signal and the 552 as the hazard BUT, it also came with a second 552 in a little box stored in the glove compartment that had it labeled as a heavy duty turn signal flasher for use if you were running trailer lights too.
I can't imagine you could'nt use another 552 as the turn signal flasher(whether you ever tow a trailer or not) mine works just fine. I can't believe the dealer didn't tell you that.

dealer said they had no part number or anything with 224, so i asked what flasher do you put in the dodges, and he said 552, .....guess thats the reasonwhy 3 dodge dealers around y area have closed now were stuck with these people who dont even know what friggen flasher goes in a ram. only a matter of time till they're gone as well

heck, if it's not any further of a drive, I'd just go back to the junkyard and pull the two 552's out of that 3500 ram you mentioned earlier. they probably work just fine-junkyard probably wouldn't charge you for them (or a dollar or two at most) and you'd have a spare.
