no pics.
if the 4x4 isn't working but the drive shaft is spinning then you need to blame your cad unit. more than likely you lost vacuum. check for a loose or leaking vac line on the cad unit or somewhere else under the truck. the lines run from the cad to the transmission mount and to the top of the transfer case, then to the engine.

also you don't need to put the truck in neutral to shift into 4hi. all you need to do is take your foot off the gas and pull the shifter into gear, that is as long as you are not going more than 55mph. thats why the transfer case is called shift on the fly.

and i had to edit my post to put the pics in, you probly saw the post before i edited the post
oh, well i was stopped anyways. lol. im used to the old way, with the manual hubs. god do i miss those soemtimes.

i dont think its the switch, i think i pulled a vacuum line loose when i installed my leveling kit, to get it in, we had to jack up one side of the axle, then do the same to the other side, and it was just kinda hangin there,i didnt think anything of it though, but now ive learned.

I have yet to do it for my Ram. But I made my own Posi-Lok for my Jeep wrangler a few years ago before I sold it.

Yeah, this vacuum 4WD actuation system has to be THE stupidest thing to ever come out of Chrysler. What an idiotic design.

Probably with a lot of ingenuity, time getting parts, labor and pretty crude . Not worth it on our Rams. Just get the Posi-lok and do yourself a favor. It's enough of a PITA to install. LOL

Well since you live in Florida, I guess there is no urgency. I'm sure he didn't buy a 5 dollar choke cable for a lawn mower and fix it. Besides, tires are more important obviously.
