Default Tire Rubbing

Well i recently knoticed that my front tires were rubbing on the upper ball joint. They are rubbing just above the rim on the inner sidewall and i wondered why so i looked at the stock tire size for my 2000 dodge ram 1500 and it was 225/75/16 and my truck has 265/75/16 so i thought that they were oversized so i called discount tire and they said that 265 were ok and they couldnt tell me what was wrong... Has anyone else had this problem and if so howd you fix it...

Thanks

Big D

2wd or 4wd ?
stock wheels or aftermarket ? if after, what's your backspace ?

265 or 275 should fit fine on a 4wd. i'm not sure about 2wd.
you might add a small spacer. don't add much.

265s even on the stock 16s shouldnt rub at all, thats what i had before swaping over to 33x12.50-17s on th eoff road rims, but no they shouldntrub on a 4wd at least.

Its a 2wd and they are stock rims... I am really confused because i have seen guys with bigger than mine and they dont rub... Are you talking about a coil spring spacer or what kind of spacer are you taking about... And they only rub with the suspension flexes like when i hit a pothole they rub... but sitting still they have clearance...

wheel spacers. they come in different sizes and thicknesses.
when i say a thin set, i mean 1/2" or so.

these may or may not fit, but just an example.

hes talking about wheel spacers, theyre made from widths of just a fraction of an inch, all the way to around 2 inches. maybe more. and it sounds like youre tires are rubbin on the fender, and not the ball joints? as those should be inside the rim dia. and no where near the rubber.

the price depends on the thickness, brand, and all that stuff. i dont see them costing anymore than 100 bucks, as i found a pair a few years ago for 100 and that was a 2 inch i believe.

heres a google search for you, id look for you, but i realy dont have the time right now. but heres the link
