dropping the plate wont even remove half the fluid.....I think your best bet would be to take it to an oilchange place that has atf+4 and the machine that uses pressure to flush the whole system. I did that on my vette about 9 years ago and it worked well....cost me like $75 bucks though...and ATF+4 generally costs a bit more than the dexron they used on my vette.
