you can gut the cat... And if you get a code you buy a slim to make the computer think it not guted thefastman.com sells them
Also you have a01 you cut of the cat and just put a pisice of pipe were the cat was thats what I would do if I did want the cat

ok well i dont even know how to gut my cat unless i take it to local muffler place and pay them to do it...or is there somthing within a reasonable price range you reccomend for best sound?
my truck is straight piped from cat back and its really loud. i have a sliding rear window so i can hear it alot better so that may be why u dont think its loud. have someone else drive it down the road and listen to it. u might change ur mind then
Your SMARTEST option would be to get a high flow cat and that way everything still works right and will pass emissions if ever tested....and its much louder while still retaining some of the needed backpressure for low end power.
if you remove the cat and get pulled over for a loud exhaust you may regret it.

I gutted my CAT approx $50 at the muffler shop. I put in an o2 sim and had nothin but grief, took out my tranny and PCM. Wouldn't advise the o2 sim. I welded in an o2 threaded nut into my pipe and reinstalled the 02 sensor and havent got a code yet. I run a flowmaster 40 series with 2.5'' exhaust. Sounds real good but not crazy loud when you are driving down the highway for long periods of time.
ok and also iv been wanting to know what would be the best thing to get performance wise that isnt to terribly expensive but worth it...iv looked at programmers, mild cams, superchargers and leanin more towards a supercharger.
