You could, but I guarantee you'll get better results with a call to comp cams for a custom
grind. Cost the same as one already done up.
well...thats what i meant vs. getting hotrod jean here to do it.
however, that means pulling the motor and im not interested in doing that just yet. if i go that far, i will go ahead and get new piston to go zero deck and get better compression.
Buddy stroked his 318 to 347ci (5.7L) first time. With the 347 he had 52tb, m1/2bbl, rt202 hds (out of the box), mild cam, shorty hdrs, no cat, 14x3k&n Put down 270rwhp with his 94 regcab Dak. Hes going all forged 390ci w/boost now.
the cam is definately not my game... i would be lying to say i knew what to ask for. do i just call comp and tell them my application and just trust them to sell me what i need?

Pretty much. You tell them what you have or in your case what your going to have, what
you want it to do, how you drive, etc, and they will help you pick a cam thats right for your
application. I haven't done a cam swap myself, yet, but my understanding is that you don't
have to pull the motor in our trucks to do it.
