We all know that dodge trucks have poor transmissions. I was thinking if a 727 Torque flight would fit as a replacement in lets say a 2001 2wd Dodge ram.....My last truck was a chevy and chevys 700r4 has a junk cooling system just like the 46RE So I pulled it and dropped in a Th350 granted I lost over drive but gained a strong tanni.
Thanks
Adam
For roughly the price of a 727 rebuilt, you can have your 46RE rebuilt. Luckily this POS err, i mean transmission has been arond for a bit. Hence, knowledge of them is common, as well as the proper fixes and rebuild parts to make them reliable and almost bulletproof.
there is a slight difference in the valve bodies between the older 46re trannies and the 2001 valve body....after i replaced my original transmission with a jasper and used up the warranty, i had a buddy help me install a trans go shift kit in it. come to find out, jasper installed a valve body from a 97 ram. not too happy with that. i am not sure what is all different about the valve bodies other than what my buddy told me, which was that the programming was different.
