I have a '99 with the newer dash. 98-01s with the Auto transmission have the best cupholders ever put in a truck!!! The cupholders in the 94-97 trucks remind me of the cupholders in my old Blazer. You open the glove box and it had 2 cup-sized slots for your drink. On the total oppisite side of the truck and when you took off, everything in the glove box went backwards and knocked your drinks out. There were 900,000 1st gen S-10s and S-10 Blazers made. Out of those 900,000 trucks, that drink holder was only used once by Chevrolet engineers in 1993. They realized what a ****ty design this was and built a whole new generation of S-10s around a center console. One of those engineers joined Dodge in 1997 and designed the cupholders that I have.

No, but I made a gauge mount out of aluminum in the cubby holder in my dash.
