Getting new rubbers.
$400 would have been my offer as well. Sounds like you got a good deal.
As for storage, you only real concern is sunlight. Keep them covered and you will be fine. Water won't hurt rubber, and as long as your wheels are coated you don't have to worry about that either. You can keep them aired up, but just make sure you check them before you put them back on. Don't worry so much about the position that they go back on. The days of saying that a radial has to stay on the same side are long gone. It won't hurt them at all to reverse their direction.
My opinion on BW vs White letters out. The only thing that looks worse than white letters out is white letters in. I think it looks tacky to see white letters inside. If you go white in, at least get something to cover the white like Tire Black or something so that you don't have to see dirty white letters any time your wheels are turned.

If the tread has a certain directional pattern it will matter what way they go on. Won't matter where you put them but you will still need to make sure its going the way the tire says the have it going
Just an FYI on tire storage. Tire rubber has a compound in it that protects the tire from UV damage and weather checking. The problem is that to keep this compound on the surface and doing its job requires that the tire roll somewhat regularly. The flexing of the sidewall causes this compound to be released in the rubber. This is why vehicles should not be left sitting without being driven for long periods. I doubt that sitting for a winter would cause a problem, but I just wanted people to know about this. Most RV owners do and will usually move their RVs at least once a month or so to prevent tire damage. Of course, keeping them out of the sun is a good idea, as well. That's why us RV owners use those tire covers when we store our RVs.
I plan on throwing black trash bags over them to help keep the sun off. Thanks guys. Oh I never new RV own did that with there tires. I have seen it before but just though it was to keep them clean. lol.
Yep, my uncle told me that, too. But we use our camper enough that we dont need to.
