That's a fuse right? I need to disable mine because its really annoying. I usually have the door open to listen to the tweets and make sure everything is going correctly. Or I have the door open while detailing and listening to musiac.

I couldn't locate a fuse for mine. It must have been jacked with at some point or another, because the fuse label was wrong. I hate to admit this, but I just jabbed a screwdriver through mine, and that shut it up.
I do have a picture of the unit if you want to know which one it is.....

the constant is fused also anyway? plus most stereos have another fuse on the wire on radio itself.
if you have amps wired up this really isnt the best way to do it anyways since you have to start your car every 20 mins anyway so the battery doesnt go dead.....

The circuitry energized by the constant feed wire is minimal and isolated from the rest of the radio. Basically, it's just the clock, station presets and settings memory. The draw would be measured in milliamps.

Hell, there isn't one door or window in this house locked down, and right now, all the windows are open. All of our garages are unlocked as well. All of our vehicles here are unlocked and the keys in the ignition. Now, before you call me a dumbass, I challenge anyone to try to slink down the drive way with out alerting the dogs to the fact that there is a visitor. If you make it past the dogs, I guarantee you wont be able to start any of our trucks up with out me or someone else hearing it, and you'll more than likely get shot in the process.
Not saying that when I'm on campus my truck isn't locked. Not at all. I lock that damn thing up tighter than a drum with sun shades over every window so no one can see in. I've never had a reason to install a security alarm, but I'm thinking the next truck will have one.
ill second that, living out in the middle of freakin nowhere, we don't worry about it much, hell my dad keeps the keys in his truck, but its a ford, who'd want to steal it lol, actually its a nice truck, diesel too, i can hear it run from the house, same for my dodge, but i keep the key hidden for that, and as far as dogs, we have 3, two that live outside, try getting past them, and one inside, sounds like Dino from the Finstones, we'll all be awake, and you'll be shot at by at least three people

moral of the story, dont **** with my family

A good general rule is to never leave your keys in an unattended vehicle.

So I wired up the switched and it worked at first. I put everything back together and tried it again with no go. Tore my dash back apart just to find it was a fuse. Replaced the 10 fuse with a 15 because that was all I had and now I have no radio at all without a switch.

Hooked the switch back up and it didn't power anything until the truck was on. If the truck is on and switch I have radio but since i have a dvd player it makes me enter the anti theft password everytime after its powered off. With the truck on, when I power on the switch I get radio and inside lights come on, turn off the switch and I have no radio and no lights.... I am confused what is going on here.

I guess I need to go back out and start looking around some more. I wired my subs up and amped my speakers. With all that wiring and my Jensen head unit I have a wire mess....guess I just need to start tearing stuff apart.
