um with longtubes if you went with an H pipe you would need 1 cat , x pipe your going to need 2 cats , there a guy on ebay that sells cerimic coating long tubes with matching y-pipe for 650 free shipping , but i bought mine used 150 but costed me to put them on though ..

i dunno how you would be able to run 1 cat with longtubes ?? the whole point of longtubes is to gain as much power, and to do so your going to wanna run a x pipe with them

i got my pacesetters used from mohawk....they had a crack that i had to get welded up, but other than that no complaints
Yeah, I can't complain either. Here is a picture of when I was installing them. The picture is a side view with the inner fender wells off. It's not the prettiest wrapping job but it's functional. I had 2 different colors of header wrap as you can tell.

If you want a better picture, let me know and I'll get one tomorrow.

Thats exactly why. Like I said on my first post, it keeps the heat down about 200*

One of the other 1st gen dak guys over in that section has an optical thermometer and measured the heat coming off his headers after a 10-15 minute drive and I measured mine wrapped after the same length of time driving the truck. Mine was around 450* F and his was around 650* F. I can't speak for him, but I tried to heat them up... shifting around 5200 rpm and just generally keeping the rpms up and throttle as far open as I could without speeding too much for 10-15 minutes. I have a neighbor with a '95 Dakota like mine and he had his headers melt his spark plug wires and a few other wires in the engine harness and it was overheating all the electronics around the engine. I would say its worth it. It dosen't cost too much, it just takes a while.

I wrapped them before putting them on. I would imagine it would be a PITA to try to wrap them on the truck. You could go to your autoparts store, but their selection will probably be limited. Summitracing has a huge selection. Here is one for a good price...

TTI makes a ceramic coated long tube headers as I have them on my Demon. The cooler the air charge, the denser the air will be to help combustion:
