yeah well theres no point in a bit more mpg when it costs a lot more in$ for the higher octane gas unless its enough of a gain combined with hp to be worth it and from what I read its not always as noticable....depends on things like the deathflash.

Deathflash...
Yeah... I dunno, I've been thinking about one of Hemifevers SCT Tuners for my 97 360. I believe that a stock motor you'll notice a little bit of better driveability and a little increase in fuel economy. And when you start throwing in stuff like aftermarket exhausts, cold air intake, headers, regeared axles, and so on... you'll see improvements in horsepower and fuel economy.
Long story short Josh: If you want fuel economy, buy a Prius... if you want to move a couch, buy a truck. We don't buy these things for economy, we buy them because we like them.

I'm not saying 13 or 14 isn't doable. Hell, a late-model 5.9 cummins could get 35 if done right. I would almost say with the proper driving techniques and some tuning and such, you could hit 15mpg. Mainly, economy relates to the driver. The lighter you are on the throttle, the lighter you are on your bank account
I remember that thread, but didn't remember anyone actually going through with it so its just talk for now. Plus the OP is 96, of which neither hypertech or SC offer a tune for.
You remember it, but you didn't read it. Most of the 1996 boys are in the same boat as the 1997's are. A good deal of the 1996 rams were hybrid OBDII, just like the 1997 guys are.
