Default '01 wiper delay

On my '01, the wipers, when on delay, stop at any old position on the windshield. They work fine on low and high but not on delay. If I turn them off then on, they also don't go to parked. Any ideas? Thanks.

Yep, same boat. same speed as low on any position in delay. I just flick it on and off as my delay and put on rain-x.

If the things would go to the parked position when turned off, I'd do the same, but they tend to stop straight up.

Ever find a solution to this problem? I got the same thing, didn't bother me much at first, now it's getting annoying. I had the problem before and after changing my multi-function switch so thats not the problem.

i think its the park circuit inside the wiper motor. the motor lives under the plastic cowl and with the wiper arms and cowl removed, you can unplug the wiring harness and test it. one wire is 12v high speed, another is 12 low speed. only one of these should have current at a time. another wire is the park circuit. it should have 12 volt whenever the wipers are on high or low. the fourth wire is ground.

if you have 12 volt on the park circuit, and the wipers don't park properly, the motor is bad.

don't loose the little plastic cowl clips. they look like hex key nuts, but are just plastic push on clips.

wiring diagram here.

Thanks, I'll have to check it out. It's not that much of a pain when the wipers don't park but after 2 years it's getting alittle annoying.

intermittent delay is controlled a) by the twist **** on multifunction switch which sends a variable voltage to the b) CTM module under the dash, which gets power from c) fuse number 9 (i think) labeled power windows or power door locks or something.

check that fuse.
you can test the voltage from the multifunction sw at the ctm. check the service manual, but its one of those 20+ wires, green or purple, or purple with green, or one of those bastards. the service manual will say.
