Top end rebuild or supercharger?
Uh, IIRC, that may be a dak body, but I believe that is an Izuzu Duramax tucked under the hood
You should do some engine work before forced induction, the stock intake manifold and throttle body will be a big restriction. Keep in mind you will have to have some way to tune it for forced induction.
FWIW I decided on a turbo for my truck, I'll be able keep or even exceed my current MPG when driven nicely. I've gathered most of the parts but I'm waiting till spring time before I start putting things together.
wow there are some great responses here.....thanks guys for keeping me away from that supercharger......i have a friend that put one on his 3.9 v6 and was pushing for me to get one.....well i might as well just start buyin up parts one at a time until i have everything. heres another question... Has anybody heard or done port jobs on the stock magnum heads? What are the ups and downs?
thats all not from heads, thats with the 1.7 rockers and a new tune also

i didnt just p&p. i have pro topline heads with 2.02/1.60 valves.
i am still running the kegger and i didnt lose anything in the lower range...except the time that i spend there.
as far as being nothing to brag about...funny.
how about some timeslips/dyno graphs from the guys that like to talk. 257 RWHP may not be much...but i have spent a total of about 400 bucks, not counting the barter work. i dont care who you are or what you drive or if you have 50hp or 5000hp, 70hp for 400 bucks is definately something to brag about.
but hey...keep spending all your money on 200dollar CAIs, 100dollar plug wires, 200dollar TBs, and oh yeah...dont forget to buy that 500dollar programmer...yeah, 1000dollars...15hp...keep bragging.
