On the '98 you'll get a supply of extensions (steering-coupling, tranny link-cut/weld, transfer link-cut/weld, bed overload-tack weld, gas tank fill/vent-ext tube/hose, new front bumper brackets, fan shroud bracket, rear bumper brackets-cost extra) here's link to an good DIY:

you know we always see these types of posting on body lifts but no one post links to kits they recommend....someone help me out! I need links, kit suggestions and pricing so I can plan.

I am not sure if I can do the work myself, no garage or appropriate tools/experience, but I got that I trust.

Any and all help is great!

Tim, no one really posts them because there are literally hundreds of companies/vendors that sell them. I have never personally installed a body lift on any of my trucks, but I have done them on others. As far as what to use, it seems the "brand name" ones (ie Rancho,Fabtech,Skyjacker) are by far the best quality. As far as installation, some good jacks with study lift posts. Then its a simple as unbolt, raise, install lift block, install new bolt, repeat. Now like others have mentioned here, you will have to do some modifications to linkages, brake lines,etc.. Quality body lift kits will include these items. If you spend 100 bucks for just the blocks, well you get what you pay for.

I know what you mean. I thought about buying one, too.

I saw a 3" locally-ish for $100. Supposedly brand new, $280 retail..Performance Accesorries made it.

I didn't buy it though. I had some people tell me the ride quality would be worse (IE. cornering, etc.) than if I had a suspension. Is there truth to this?
