Dodge Intake Manifold

Mine was made this year 2009 and my code reads 5409. Now, this may or may not be the date code. Just trying to put together the most likely reason for the NPT fitting boss. I have the boss but it is cast over.
Did you get it from Hughes this May? That's around the time when I ordered mine in fact.
Well, at least you have either option of running it OEM or, running in the air hat or CAI.

I think that was right around the time that Rev phased in. I remember I kept calling to see about when they were coming in and they told me that they sold the last demo intake that month. It wasn't a production run so, that's what I believe that to be. Those first runs were the pilot runs.
Then they amended the instructions in Aug so, I do think that it was right around that time that those were rolled to the next revision. Is yours a 5409 as well?

The hole on the #8 runner is for EGR versions of the vehicle. It's bigger than the IAT sensors plug and as thick as the sensor is, I wouldn't want to put it in the runner with and adapter for fear it would block too much flow into the #8 cylinder.
If you put it anywhere in the intake, I would put it in the side of the central block of the intake, or mount it in the adapter plate for the TB. Just check for clearance. I chose the air hat because it was easy to drill through, and if a destroyed it, I would only be out about 30 bucks.

The sensor is not that thick, only the threads are that dia, but, the threaded part doesn't go inside of the intake only a small portion of the tip sits in the air path. It's very easy to mount in one of the extra vacuum ports off the throttle linkage side of the intake.
Simply drill out the hole with the appropriate drill size and then tap it with the correct NPT tap and your set.
What is the size of that NPT on the runner anyway?

I spoke to Tim at Hughes and that intake is an older Rev and, that threaded boss is for the AIT sensor. I had a feeling that was the case and I was right. It was phased out on the new intakes and, that hole is no longer there.
Just simply plug it and locate the sensor in your Air hat or anywhere before the throttle body.
