Is that what he recommends?

They changed that damn thing so much. The tb adaptor was changed, the sensor hole was removed.

What's next?

Yes, he recommends not running it in the intake. It wasn't working when they ran it inside the intake. It doesn't work so, don't bother running it in the intake. It's set for production now. They changed the coolant sensor port as well as the AIT sensor port. The TB riser was necessary to allow clearance for the linkage.

I've heard you actualy lose lowend with these intakes, is that true? Most of the driving I do with my truck is below 2500rpm.

Without a few supporting mods the low end suffers a little. Just the mods I have now have given me way more low end that stock and it pulls hard all the way to 5500 RPMs, and would go further if it weren't for the stock valve springs...

The M1 supposedly loses low end. The Hughes was made to help low end as well as up high. Idk how true it all is though

I've only seen one person do a dyno comparison, they claimed they both performed the same with the same powerband. Notice the dyno graph on the Hughes website starts after 3200 RPMs?

I'd like to see more people dyno them but so far this is all we have..

Hughes M1 or FI Airgap is the way to go. For technical info, call Hughes and speak to their engineer over there about those intakes. The injector angle was changed, there's no plenum on it, so, it will never fail as it's a one piece mold / intake. The air gap keeps the oil from heating the intake and allows cool air to flow through keeping the air cooler thus providing a denser A/F mix. All of that provides more HP and throttle response.

The water ports are removed from the design and there's no AIT sensor port. All of those items are mods to help gain HP and, they have the dyno tests to prove it. I run one on my truck and, it was the first thing I did after I blew the plenum on the OEM intake. It was night and day just with the intake alone. I stuck all the OEM rubbish on and it still ran much stronger and had more throttle response over the OEM. My OEM intake had a small leak thus causing a vacuum issue more than sucking tons of oil and burning it.

After that, I changed everything else other than heads and block and now, this truck really is what it should have been when I got it.

Go get the Airgap. Don't go cheap. Most of the stuff out there is junk and, isn't worth the hassle. In this case, I believe you get what you pay for. I think it was worth every penny.

While your at it, change out your timing chain with their top end chain. (if needed)

YEAH! I want one of those! Hughs you said!?

Yes, Dave Hughes makes some great products and, that intake is one of them. That guy knows his stuff. Did you see their new engine block- the 605 ci Koleno? Talk about solid as a rock and thick walls. Made in USA too- no Chinese made junk metal. Roush in Michigan machined those things.

Definitely do yourself a favor and look into getting one for your truck, you will really like it over what your running now hands down.

The FI Airgaps are made by Edelbrock in Cali.
