Dropping valve body
Its still throwing the "PO748 Pres cntrl solA circuit electrical" code that it was throwing before, and which the replaced harness was supposed to have fixed.
Wonder if it could be the pressure solenoid itself ?
Wonder if it could be the pressure solenoid itself ?
What entire assembly ?
The sensors ?
I replaced those about half a year ago, I was told by what I thought was a professional that the harness was the problem, I am not the type to go throwing parts at a problem just hoping it will work.
That said, I think my next course of action will be to replace the damn sensor, and hope that it works.
I kept all my ATF jugs just for that reason, so I don't have to blow another $50 on fluid - Luckily for me, I got a drain
plug in my pan.
If that don't work, a new PCM.
If that don't work, I'm screwed.
I had the batt unhooked for about an hour, that should have reset the PCM.

Well, call me crazy but isn't that exactly what your doing?! What ever works man.
Twas meant to be intentionally ironic, I thought you'd get it.
I'm no trans specialist, but a "PO748 Pres cntrl solA circuit electrical" code can't be too many things.
I'm confidant of the wiring, to that leaves the sensor, or a bad ground - Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, not a whole **** load of info about this code out there.

There's quiet a bit of info about troubleshooting code P0748 here:

The voltage regulator went bad to begin with, and who knows what could have happened to it when it was rigged to bypass it and shorted ,or whatever happened there when the guy f'd it up.
Thanks for the link saw, pdf's crash my system for some reason, I'll have a look when I get that fixed.
zman, charging is not an issue now, truck shuddering then dying when put into gear is the problem.
That may be PCM related, I don't have anything concrete to suggest that it is, or even could be.
If the new solenoid doesn't work I'll try it, a guy on ebay has them for $180 shipped, and programmed by VIN. He offers a 14 day return, only losing the shipping charge so that sounds like a chance worth taking.
