Camber Questions After Ball Joint install?
Bought my 98' 4x2 in August it has a 6.5 in fabtech lift on some Procomp a/t 315/75/r16 I had the the upper and lower ball joints replaced along with the idler and pitman arm all mcquay norris parts....my question is the shop that did the work also did the alignment but they left in my opinion to much camber on it, if that"s the correct term...as in the top part of the tires slanted outward.
Is this common or does the shop not know how to deal with lifted trucks? you can really notice it when parked, he even said he had to cut part of the adjusment hole for the dogbone that holds the upper control arm on the right side so that he could get it to spec. The adjustment is set all the way out he also said it helps with the road crown....here's a pic the toe in is fine the steering wheel is just not straight but u can see the camber is off. and my truck still pulls to the right and wanders. I'll take and post up some pics of where the upper control arm adjustment is set in the morning. THX.

Thanks in advance.

mines doing the same thing, except i dont have a lift. but my front end is all new, ad still the very outside of my tires are wearing, which pees me off because i have new tires on this, and the outside of the tires are now rounded due to this.
Im at a loss as well

Camber is not adjustable, unless they used adjustable ball joints. The arms you are talking about adjust caster, which rotate the axle or move the bj's front to back.(for lack of a better description). And you can center the wheel by adjusting the drag link sleeve.
NM....
do these trucks require 4 wheel alignment or 2? probably another dumb question but i got a 2 wheel

Did he give you a print out with the specs? That would give you a good indication as to if the camber is excessive or not. It is really hard to eyeball an alignment. I assume he was talking about caster when he was talking about road crown. Camber has nothing to do will pulling.
There could be some issues that cause the pulling. It is pulling or is it wandering? The difference between a pull and a wander is a pull will put you in the ditch no matter what road you are and how it is crowned. A wander will go the direction it wants to until something bounces it another.
Wandering could be caused by caster being too low. Think of it like a wheel barrow. When you put all the weight in the front it becomes very light and steering is light. When you move the weight back, similar to increasing caster, it tends to track better and steering get heavier.
A pull, not a wander can be caused by either a difference in caster left to right or the tires themselves. To eliminate the first you would just refer to the print out of your alignment specs. If the right side caster is 1 degree or lower than the left side then that is likely your problem. They need to correct it. Should the specs be close then it could be your tires. To eliminate and troubleshoot that you need to cross rotate your front tires. Either the pulling will go away or it will start pulling left. If it pulls left your options are either live with it or get new tires.
A lifted truck doesn't necessarily require special knowledge when it comes to aligning it. The challenge with a lifted truck is getting it back into spec. The adjusters in many cases are not broad enough to accommodate the changes.
