looks like the gasket between the intake and the head is in pretty bad shape.

have you done the plenum fix yet?

thats just the intake gasket...you are ok as lond as you arent hearing some crazy sucking noise.

as far as the TB being clean...its gonna be on the top side...pretty sure the plenum is blown.

do you have that link where you can by-pass the plenum with some kit? forgot what it was. and do i need to remove the Valve covers to do plenum?

Doesnt really sound crazy with the sucking sound. sounds just like my old mans truck. so thats just the intake gasket? is that an easy fix? im the type of person to fix something as soon as i see or hear that its bad

when you fix the plenum issue you have to put new intake gaskets on it anyway.

its a time consuming task...but one im sure you can do.

heres the plenum plate

It's pretty much guaranteed the plenum gasket is shot! And that motor is pretty dirty, you might look into doing something about it. The pick up tube might be getting clogged too. This is mine (at 150K)when I took off the VC's to install the HS 1.7's.

mine has a little warp to it also. i didn't notice when i changed the gaskets. this is the passenger side and you can see the warp on the right side of the intake manifold.

you have the same warp as me.

and im doing the intake and Plenum tomorrow. (just gunna put a new plenum gasket till it blows then im gettin the huges plate, or when i rebuld it in the spring)

Anything i should be aware of before attempting?

I can hear air comming out of the manifold on both sides, and its the same sound as when i bought it. So im excited to see what this oes for me performance wise since ive had a leak sine i bought it.

And the plenum gasket is just 1 retangle shaped gasket right? because at AZ they have an intake/ upper intake plenum gasket set for 27.99 (Fel-Pro)

the plenum "is" the intake. you need all the gaskets.

rectangle for belly pan...two intake gaskets(against the heads)...TB gasket...air cleaner gasket.
