fastman owners
does anyone have a 50mm fastman that isn't installed on the truck?
i need some dimensions and a picture or two (a close up that is better than on the website).
i recently got a used throttle body for 20$ and i want to make a home brew fastman.
the fastman saysFor the 5.2 I recommend my 1.980 bore "50mm" TB.
i measured my throttle plates and they are 1.978 inches (50.25mm). so that means if i bore out the holes to 1.980" that the throttle plates will probably get stuck at closed throttle.
i can make new brass throttle plates on the lathe but i don't know the diameter of the new ones for the 50mm throttle body.
i also don't know the diameter of the center of the bores (where the throttle plates rest at idle) and the top and bottom edges.
hopefully someone has a dial caliper and a fastman that isn't installed on the truck so they can help me out.

so yours is 50mm all the way through with no taper above and below the throttle plates?
after i get off the milling machine with mine i will post a few pictures so you can compare mine to yours.
and since my plates are 1.978 instead of 1.980 then i'll bore it out to 1.978 so i won't have a .002 gap between the plates and the walls.

that is pretty much what i'm going to do too. but i'm going to taper the holes from where the plates sit to the outer edges. and i'm going to knock down the 4 posts that line up the air cleaner and taper them as well.
you can see in the pictures that the plates don't sit flat across the hole, they are on either side of the high point in the center, thats why i was asking about the bore being 50mm straight through.
i am thinking that i should make the high point in the center 50mm and taper it on either side like it is now. maybe to about 52mm.
