wow...where i went to school i dont recall bmws or jags or mercedes...just normal stuff. but i also graduated in a class of 66 people.
my truck was new then and was still the "new" body style.
fast & furious hadnt drove the ricer generation crazy yet so the pissed off bumblebee exhaust wasnt much of a handle.
hell, i had a 7mag behind my seat soph, jun, sen year... so did half my coaches.
boy things have really changed.

My HS had kids driving all these new cars to school all the time. Hell, my class only had 48 kids in it.
It never really bothered me to see daddy's little girl come rolling into the parking lot in a brand new caddie or lexus. I just knew that these kids wouldn't treat the car with any kind of respect. Instead of getting mad over it, I just sat back in laughed. The way I look at it, my truck was a work in progress. All the way through HS, my truck constantly had parts missing off of it. It was just where I was working on it. That being said, I knew that I was doing my own work, and it made me have pride in what I drive. There fore, people with their brand new trucks and cars didn't bother me. Plus, even with the way my truck looks today, people still stop me all the time to compliment me on how well the truck looks and they are even flabbergasted when I tell them what year truck it is.
I'm sure I might have felt a little twinge of anger towards people that got brand new cars when they turned 16 if it weren't for the fact that some buddies and I made about $400.00 each winter charging them $10.00 a piece to pull their little cars up the hill in the snow they couldn't make it through.

man, all y'all are lucky. my first car was a 75$ 1980 something subaru wagon. the entire bottom half of the body was full of rust holes and when you punched it there would be a big cloud of black smoke filled with rust. and the top speed was 50mph unless you were going down hill. but the 4x4 worked on it so that was a +.
that car lasted 6 months until i got my 500$ thunderbird. i learned a lot about maintenance and repairs on that car. i had to fix it before i could drive it home and continued to fix little things here and there for about 4 years after that until it gave up on me. now i have my 1000$ camaro (which needs work) and my dodge.

Well, I finally get the police report today. The cop still doesnt seem to grasp the effects of rain on one's traction, and wrote on the report that 'unsafe speed' was a factor. Fortunately, I had a witness that was behind me who saw that I was doing around 12mph. On top of this, the kid files a claim with the insurance against ME, trying to pin the blame on me. All the while these past two days, he has been telling others that he did it on purpose. Needless to say I was pretty mad. His insurance agent called me like 30 minutes after I left a message with mine.
Anywho, heres a crappy pic of the damage. It was getting dark, so my flash tried to compensate.
