Default What wheels should I buy?

I have an 01 1500 Ram 4X2 that I'm looking to get new wheels and tires for. I currently have a 2.5 inch coil spacer lift up front to level the truck out, but I don't like the harsh ride and funky geometry that it caused.

I'm going to install a Doetsch 3.5 inch spindle lift up front, which will require me to get new wheels. The spindle requires a wheel with 3.25-4.5" backspacing.

I'm having trouble finding wheels. I really like Cragar soft 8's, but I don't think I can get them with the 3 inch bore that the rear axle has, but perhaps I'm mistaken on that measurement? I'm also pretty sure but not positive, that the lug spacing on my truck is 5x5.5.

I want to run a 285/75-16 tire.

Maybe someone can help me here, I'm totally lost as to what I need.

Thank you very much in advance.

American Racing Baja's
16x8 with 4.5" back spacing.

You were correct about the bolt pattern. 5x5.5

A 1500 is 5. 5.5. What is a
3 inch bore that the rear axle has
? I have a 3" lift and got wheels with a 4.03 backspacing and they work fine.

This design is pretty common. These are Pacer 164U but are available from many other manufacturers such as American Racing and Eagle Alloys.

Another plus is that this wheel is so common, practically any size and configuration you could dream of is available. Mine are 16x10 I believe wrapped in 285/70R16.

That looks nice.

What about the center bore measurement of the wheel? I went and measured the bore on my OEM wheels and it's about 3 inches, maybe a slight bit over. I've been hunting around on summit and they don't have anything with that center diameter???

If you get a wheel with backspacing it should not be an issue.

Yeah, those will work fine, but I would get an 8" wide wheel personally. The tire will wear better.

The center bore on my wheels is 4.25" but it doesn't really matter, they make center caps in all sizes.

I see. Alright, off to find some nice wheels then. I like the soft 8's but they dont make them in the size I need for this truck with an 8 inch width...
