i finally got my add a leafs today. 10 days from the time the money cleared the bank for them to travel 371 miles.
when i got the HBS spacers it took 3 days from the time i placed the order for them to go 2,177 miles.
so i think HBS is a little better on shipping than topguncustomz.

Damn. I ordered that add-a-leafs from summit. I only live like 200 miles from their store in Akron, so even if I don't drive up there, they generally have my parts here by the next day, and that's just regular ground shipping.

I think dsertdog's springs took like 3 days to get here, about 1000 miles from Tulsa, Oklahoma so he get's a big A+ in the shipping department.

Glad you got your parts though. Now get that **** on, and take some pictures

Yeah,
First let me say it would probably be a good idea to break loose the U-bolt nuts before you jack it up. I didn't. Also it would be a good idea to block your front wheels since you're jacking your rear end up. Again I didn't think of it till I was done, but it was pretty flat where I did it. Also there's a good chance that the nuts on your u-bolts have been on there since the day your truck rolled off the assembly line. Be liberal with the PB Blaster.

Jack your *** end up and put jack stands (or whatever you use in place of jack stands) Under your frame. Take your wheels off.

I put some big C-clamps on to hold the leaves together

Unbolt your U-bolts.

Take off the little peice of metal that's in your way to getting to the center pin.

Unbolt the center pin. I used a whizzy wheel to cut the bolt off the top because it was totally seized up, and you're going to replace it anyway.

Take your U-bolts off and let the leaf pack spread apart.

Put your add-a-leaf on top of the overload spring, and below the rest of the leaf pack.

Put the center pin through and bolt it down. Make sure you don't tighten it too much like I did, It's scary when that bolt breaks and the leaves go flying apart.

Put the block back it and put your U-bolts back on.

Do the same thing to the other side.

Cereal Killer...why didn't you buy a red truck instead of some off the wall color? joking nice truck! i had the experience of doing add a leafs back when i had an 85 chevy which is leafs all the way around. so needless to say when we got to the 4th one we got pretty good at it. but not fun at all, and can be very dangerous!

The add-a-leaf won't touch them. It goes under those leaves, and is short enough it won't touch the bands.

Haha, thanks. I like your truck too... and if you were gonna drive a chevy at least you had one before they put IFS in them (including their heavy duty models. What the hell is with that?)
