so I don't recommend anyone trying this mod as it is not for anyone who does not know their 12 volt wiring. Took me about 4 hours, got it done, the only thing is i couldn't figure out how to get my interior and cargo light to come on, but there was one wire that was live when i scroll into the dimmer mode on the switch but as soon as i go into dome or cargo it is no longer live. I'm thinking something is backwards but i had enough with it and wired it so my interior comes on when it's in the dimmer position and is off when i go to dome and my dash lights are fully lit up. NOT AN EASY JOB!

I don't think you have to worry about anyone knowing their 12 volt wiring and doing this, unless your stuck in the desert and need headlights and there happens to be a 2001 off to the side. Like I said, for 20-25 bucks you could have been done in 5 minutes. And everything would work correctly.
