Default 2001 Lug Nut Covers

I have a 2001 1500 off road sport. Does anyone know where i can get the chrome lug nut covers that came with the stock rims? Some of the covers have been misplaced over the years.

Buy a new set of solid chrome lug nuts, not the cheap *** Dorman replacement ones that just have a thin cover on the nut itself.

that thin cover can be glued on and it won't come off again.

Yeah! Until the next time you rotate your tires, plus they rust like crazy because of the cheap *** Chinese garbage they are made of. Been there done that, I watched too many roll by me and got tired of it. If this is what the OP is talking about, bottom line is there is no replacing just the chrome part.

The first time you rip off 5 covers and have to replace them you would have spent enough money to buy a whole new set. Yea, you can glue them on, hell, I've seen people attempt to tig them back on (even if they spent more in rod than the the replacement would have been), but they still come off.

If you want to save the covers you have on now, do two things.
1. When you take the wheel off, don't use an impact gun. Use your arms. Only resort to an impact if you can't get your nut off using you're own hands. (Those of you with sick minds leave that alone. )

2. Use a 6 point socket. DO NOT USE AN 8 point OR STAR socket. They are hell on those little covers.

All in all, your best bet is to get another set. I've been looking online for a new set for mine, but haven't been all that successful yet. Course, I haven't been looking all that hard.

I know it looks like hell. I'm missing three as we speak, and rotating the tires is a complete pain in the ***.
