I'm assuming your going with larger tires around 35"? because without them you will regret the 4.56 as with smaller tires you will be driving at high rpms and burning a lot of gas.....and of course, if its a 4wd you need to do both axles not just the rear. I dont think yours is but then again there arent a lot of 2wd trucks out there with 35" tires either...

If you have a 2wd then all you need is one gear set. I would suggest a master install kit.
Food for thought: The Powerwagon comes with 4.56 gears and 33" tires.

You need the disconect ones if I'm correct. And if you call them for an extra 60 bucks you can get rear yukons. Your rpms will be crazy high on 4.56's and 31" tire.

dude...dont do it. 4.56 is too low a gear for 31"...or 33" for that matter.

youll be able to pull a hole in hell but you wont be able to get away when you get caught.

4.56 and 265s arent that horrible, i thought they would be when i did them but its not as bad as i thought, i run out of power before i do rpms on the interstate, i can still get it up to 105 (not that i ever need it) it wouldnt be the worst thing in the world.

i dont think im going to be going any bigger than a 285/ 33 in tire. soi guess it isnt worth it. i was just browsing found them, and saw they were pretty cheap

I always hear the front carrier needs replaced or a thick gear is needed. Can anyone clear this up. Who carries the front carrier or thick gear? Pros , cons?

its the labor to have them installed right in both axles thats the killer....I lot you can do wrong....trust me I have a noisy rear axle because someone did something wrong.....Also I havent had time to jack up the truck and mark the driveline and check and see but I suspect the idiot who changed the gears in my rear axle may not have done the front....that would explain why the transfer case had exploded on the po...there's a new one in it now and I dont want to find out the hard way...
as far as 4.56 and 33's in a powerwagon I can only assume it would be ideal for farm use as its got more power like a tractor. and still not as bad as 31's and 4.56..but it all depends on the gearing in the tranny as well. (i had 32's and 4.56 and it was same as stock final ratios on my jeep)..also that was also a time when the gas situation was different....If you drive on the highway a lot its not what you want.
