Default Removing ball joint from axle tube yoke?

Trucks really starting to Pi$$ me off now...

Lower ball joint..
Snap ring is out...
I have tried the ball joint press but can't seem to get it to press at the right angle, the upper ball joint mount is in the way and the bottom of the yoke is angled....
The only penetrant I can find is PB which won't cut through this rust...
I've tried heating the yoke and flash cooling the ball joint with an upside down can of compressed air and,,,,,,,,,,,,,NOTHING, won't budge...
I've pounded with sledge hammer but don't want to break the tube.
So What can I do (short of Oxy Acetylene Which is not an option)

When I'm done I'm gonna post a thread on how I removed all of these severly rusted components.........If I ever get finished
Please help

heat it up real good then try, dont cool it down like you mentioned. once you let the heat off it'll start cooling down on its own

There are special angled cups that are to be used with the press you know. This will be extremely important for installation, or they won't go in straight.

Any suggestions on where I may pick these angled ones up today?
I got the press and the 4x4 adapter kit from auto zone, they don't have the angled ones. and just got back from NAPA and they don't either....
I'l be web surfing for these I guess...
Is there a certain degree that I need from the kit for this dodge?

I thought the 4x4 kit from auto zone included them. Can you tell if it's budging at all? You need the DANA axle kit, I have one of my own not from autozone. I've just seen on here where people get the 4x4 kit from AZ and don't have a problem.

I ran into this problem as well when I did mine last week end or the weekend before. After destroying a complete set of new ball joints and finding out that Kragen cant sell you the right parts. I finally got them changed out.

Good luck to ya, and dont use the puller backwards like I did.

I believe I got it figured.
The cups are straight on this set but if you put the 2 pressing adapters together it kinda makes a ball joint of it's own and moved the entire press into a straight press out.
I had to jack the truck up way higher than I wanted but have several jackstands wedged in different areas cause I had to LEAN ON IT....(Socket is on the bottom)
But it popped, took a second look added a bit more penetrant.....LEANED ON IT...
and it popped again......I'm below the snap ring groove right now but had to rest before my back was the next thing to pop.
Its soaking still I found knocker loose at NAPA while I was out it does seem to help....
I'll keep ya informed..
Thanks again

actually he used the can of air to cool it fast so it theoretically gets cold and shrinks while the surronding piece is still hotter and larger....so it comes apart faster....

well shortly after the 3rd pop it stopped moving.
I tried pressing it back in.
No movement....
Heat and cool again, still nothing.....
I looked at the air hammer on the floor and looked at the hole in the top of the press....HMMMM
It's out..........................
Just so happens that heat pressure and shock are still the best ways to remove stuff.
I just tossed new ball joints in the freezer and am letting the yoke cool down and now am resting my back..... Install in about an hour i'll let you know how it goes
