Hey got a quick question for ya, and Im not great with "knowing mechanics" I have a 99 dodge ram 1500 4x4 5.9. I gutted my cat about a month ago cause I was having take off problems felt like I was pulling a large trailer load around 30mpg. But it would go away and than come back another day. So anyways I broke out my Cat and left it at that. I see alot about the check ing. light because my O2 sensor is throwing the code. I also read it dont hurt nothing just gonna have a CEL on. I wasnt all to concerend about that. After reading I may go add one of those nonfoulers though. I do get the code for the o2 sensor now, took it a few weeks to get but I have it. I also have 2 other codes now though. both having to do with the tranny.

P1762
Governor Pressure Sensor Offset Improper Voltage
P1763
Governor Pressure Sensor Voltage Too High

P0138 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:

* Faulty O2 sensor
* Short to battery voltage in O2 sensor signal circuit
* High fuel pressure (not as likely)

could the faulty o2 sensor been the cause of the governor switch going out? Think they are related at all? I have an appoitment at the shop to fix the governor issues on Friday a lot of Money later would suck if the O2 is gonna throw it again. Any information you can give me would be great! Thank you.

Gov pressure problems and O2 sensor problem are not remotely related. Unless you drove over something that cut all the wires under your truck.

another thing on the exhaust tuning...smaller pipe equals higher pitch...larger pipe equals lower pitch
