If my tranny is going bad, like I think it is...I am slightly thinking about swapping in a 5spd. Has anyone done this? If you have, what tranny did you put in, and do you have pics or a build thread?

Been discussed on here many times. You need to find a 5spd, computer, wiring harness, and all that electical crap from a donor truck, in the end you can get a better auto for about the same price and alot less work.

I have done 5-speed swaps on other vehicles. I wouldn't have bought my Ram if it wasn't a 5-speed. If rams are like other vehicles, there are probably holes, center punches, or marks where things such as clutch masters and shifters are supposed to go which makes it simpler. Most cases a computer and wiring is ideal, but not overly necessary. definatly not for the faint of heart.

Just my

the 5.2's come with a 5speed tranny, wouldnt it be the same bolt pattern? but like stated above the clutch and everything, makeing shifter through floor. but i would def. think it would need new wiring like stated above as well

Not sure how much wiring you would need to make it driveable as your doing all the shifting you may get codes etc but I would think you could drive it without changing any of the wiring except the nss
