may be your wires or distributor cap are shot and are shorting out when the water hits them and grounds them to the engine?...either that or an electrical short somewhere...

Mine will chug and sputter for a bit after I run it through a quick wash, I assume it has to be something with the undercarriage jets soaking something. My cap is new though.

Default Stalls when wet

Hi Guys, I have the same issue with my 02 Ram. 5.9 (Non Hemi). I agree with the cracked cap and stuff and that's why I replaced it all. I replaced the Cap, Rotor, Plugs, and Wires. I still have the issue but is only stalls when it gets wet from underneath?? So what about a cracked coil? I saw something about that, or is there something down by the starter in series with the ignition? Anybody have any ideas?

Did you replace the plug wires as well? Run them per the TSB?

Has anyone suggested the issue could be a cracked distributor cap or worn spark plug wires?
