Default Front brake Pad upgrade?

Is there an upgrade in pads available without upgrading the rotors or calipers. Just the pads? All searches result in the rear brake upgrade, or upgrading the front calipers and rotors. I am interested in your suggestions for just upgrading my front pads.

Good pads is all that I can think of. Unless you get some dual piston's for an 01.

What ARE good pads. Just the most expensive ones that O'Reilly's has?

I'm sure some of the older guys will correct me if I'm wrong. Oh and just cause you pay top dollar don't always mean its a good part. Some times cheaper is better. I just use the cheap pads because I don't want to screw up good pads in the mud.

Mudshack, brake upgrades usually involve pads, rotors and possibly even calipers. Careful about what pads you buy, especially on factory rotors. Some of the EBC,or Green Stuff , or Hawk pads will eat your rotors due to hardness of the pad(friction material). Also how good are the rotors now? Have they been turned/trued? A rotor that is close to the no go spec with a harder pad will heat and warp that rotor inviting a host of other problems. Slotted and/or drilled rotors look nice, but unless your racing the truck they are really not necessary.

I got some Raysbestos ceramic ones at Rock Auto for $60.
If you just want to go to your parts store, NAPA has 3 prices, standard, prenium, and gold level.

I'd definatley do the rear wheel cylinder upgrade. You will be impressed.

Maybe I should have been more specific....

My brake pads are squeaking (sounds like the indicator). I want to replace the pads. And what have you all found to be good pads. Not big on buying stock parts from a dealership, as you can pay the same money or even less for a better product at an autoparts store. I was just looking for ya'll for your past experience. With my FZJ80, a good and easy upgrade was putting the FJ100 pads on it. I was hoping for the same sort of input from ya'll. PurpleDodge and 95Ram360 figured me out. Thanks guys. I know that I really should get the rotors turned because I don't know what the Previous Owner did. But the money is tight, and there is no pulsating when braking. And the braking is good. Even with the 285's on there. Just want to stop the squealing without getting worse brakes.

What brake pads (Brand) do you suggest.
