Default No shocks???

So I'm under the front checking out the suspension and changing the oil when I notice.....no shocks on the front of my truck. (Just bought it used this week.

I assume they go up through the coils as on most cars/trucks. It doesn't bounce around or show any signs of no shocks, but there are none there.

Any ideas? I'm thinking immediately get some new ones and get them mounted.

Thanks.

yea the are very easy to put in. they are just shock absorbers to take some of the tension off the spring. you can get them for pretty cheap i think they start at 21.99 each at a local auo parts store. but you get what you pay for. and there is no need to remove the spring when doing the job. it will take less than 2 hours if you have basic mechanical knowledge

So you're saying the trucks don't necessarily come with them? I've never heard of that before.
Thanks. I can put them in....no problem.

Ok, I misunderstood. I can't figure why there aren't any, but I'll never know the answer.

I'm going to put some on this weekend.

when i changed my shocks i gave the brush guard a push with them out and it bounced about 15-20 times. i don't see how you have no bounce.

when you put them in, the bottom bolt takes 100ft-lbs and loc tite. and it is 21mm.
can't remember the torque for the tower bolts but i think its around 35 ft-lbs.

I'll take pics before I start the job. I did the bounce test and it doesn't bounce a lot. However, the springs are pretty stiff and I can't push the truck down that far. Anyways, I'm going to install some this weekend.

Well if you don't have shocks in there you are lucky none of the coil springs came out. You really need to look at stuff a lot better!
