Default What is this hose on my axle?

I heard a dragging noise when I was leaving my driveway the other day, got out and saw this on the ground. Anyone know what its for and where its supposed to be? I hope its not really important.. lol

Hmm... No pic...

More than likely, it's the vent tube, and unless you plan on submersing your axle in water, not that big of a deal. course, wont know fr sure with out a pic...

Red Xs. Would help to know which axle you're talking about.

rubber tube about 3/8" dia ? vent tube. should be a little check valve thingy in the end to keep the water out. then just wire tie it up as high as it'll reach with slack for axle/body to bounce up and down.

since you can see the pic and we can't, its because of login/sharing permissions set on the hosting site. vent tube is on all differentials - rear (2wd and 4wd) and front (4wd)

Might want to add 2WD to your profile info. That hose is the axle breather tube. The hollow bolt it is mounted to serves two purposes. It vents the axle through that hose and mounts the brake distribution block to the axle tube. Looks like the zip tie failed and the hose fell down. Just zip tie it back up.

That's the emergency catheter tube for that long trip home after the strip club.
