My 255/85/16 (33) make my truck fell like a dog! It was good on 30's but 33 is a big no no. I'm on the saving train for gears.

i am actually looking at toyo open country MT's next cause i don't wanna go bigger cause of gear issues and they make a 33x 13.50 which will be a little wider and change the look up a bit without having to buy gears!

Where the hell are you going to get going to get gears, master install kits, and installation front and rear for $750? because I'm going there to get mine done even if it's in California.

Secondly, don't get a spacer bigger than 2.5 inches. Spacers offer you no axle articulation like springs do, and longer springs aren't that expensive. 3" lift springs can be had for about $120-175, or as an alternative, stock diesel coils will lift a 1500 2.5-3.5"
Just for the "halibut" I'm gonna disagree with the articulation statement. Or can you be specific about where that would happen?

However...4+ inch spacers are just not cool. I mean you could run them on a street truck...but I dunno about a trail rig. Thats a lot of steel hanging off a stock attachment point.

+1 or however many on the 3.5 rule. Once again, for the newbies a good rule of thumb when lifting a second gen front axle is that for every 2 inches of lift you uncenter the axle in the wheel wel and between the frame rails about 3/4 inch.

Thats a diff story. I only have truck payment car insureance and cell bill. But you would spend about that much no tires and not on gears? Your tires aint that old. Pa lift laws for one reason. Like I said my next mod is going to be gears.

Alright, true. Axle articulation (or lack their of) would only be an issue 95% of the time in an offroad situation, or on really crappy roads. However I'm assuming that if you're spending the money to lift your 4x4 truck, and buy oversized mud tires that cost twice as much as normal tires, and last half as long, that you are going to be taking your truck offroad.

Responsibility can be a real buzzkill...is that still an "in" word? It sounds edgier than "bummer."
