Default Remote lock/unlock/alarm system issue

This only happens in the afternoon after my truck (a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 with a 5.9 liter V8 engine) has been sitting in the hot sun all day… when I hit the remote unlock switch, the alarm goes off… it cancels when I hit the unlock switch again and doesn’t seem to happen in the morning or when it is cooler… other than my truck might be possessed, any ideas? Thanks.

Mike

I've got a 98 1500 5.2 and my alarm died about a year ago. I've heard that alarm/ keyless entries are only good for so long, i live in florida and the same thing happened to e before it completely went to hell. might be time for a new system.

I have a problem with me truck. I have a 2001 Ram 1500 Crew Cab. As I was looking at this thread it seemed to be happening to allot of people. My problem is that from time to time and recently about every 2 days the alarm on the truck will go off for no reason. Sometimes it happens when I try to unlock the doors. I thought that maybe I had hit the panic button but when I hit it the panic alarm goes off. I thought that maybe the battery in my FOB was low so I took the FOB apart and did not put it back together and it did it at about 3 AM this morning. I do not have remote start. This is really pissing my wife off. I am currently looking for a fuse that I can take out and I will just use my key to get in. If anyone has any good ideas that would be great.
