Default 95 Ram cooling system

I have a 95 Ram 1500 Sport, noticed the coolant was a little low, so I was filling it. I had it running and the upper hose got hot and the lower stayed cool. The radiator got hot just at the end where the upper hose comes out. The upper hose was real hot at the radiator but just warm near the thermostat, it was running for atleast a 1/2 hr. What should I be looking at to correct this problem. Please help Dave

sounds like the radiator is plugged up. check the DIY to do a flush.

Is it leaking?

No leaks and great heat. I was just concerned why the rad would get warm just by the upper hose and the rad and the lower hose stay cool oh and the upper hose hot to the touch. I have read here that it is normal but seems to me the lower hose should at least get warm. The temp gauge holds right at 190 if you are going down the road or just sitting in my driveway. Don't know what to think or do at this point.

How much coolant did you add? Might have an air pocket in it now. Do a search for "burping the radiator".

Found where my fluid was going, Son has one of those funnels that you put in the top of the rad that seals it up to get the air worked out and I filled it and noticed with the pressure of the fluid in the funnel it was leaking where the alum meets the plastic ends on the rad. So it looks like I have to hunt a new radiator. I found one on the net but it says it fits a 2500 5.2 V8 318 but it looks the same to me. Anybody know if it will work

radiators are not really expensive nor hard to find.
