I have one of those wheels and it works awesome, just keep it moving in one direction without stopping or going too slowly.

I used a plastic ice scrapper along with goof off and it worked well.

Looks like you ran into the same problem I did when I tried taking off the plastic on my tailgate a couple months ago. I left it go since my truck usually has mud on it anyways but I'll have to go get one of those remover wheel things and give it a try.

goof off....I was redoing my k5 blazer a few years ago and when I took off the stock weather stripping it had this slimmy glue. I tryed everything finally went down to the store and bought some goof off and it worked awesome.

im going to get teh eraser wheel in about 10 mins... that looks the easiest.
